Whether you are a professional athlete trying to get an edge, a post-menopausal woman attempting to combat osteoporosis, a beginner looking to start living a healthier lifestyle or a glutton for boot camp style punishment, Urban Wild Fitness has a program that is right for you.

Urban Wild Fitness’ owner Alison Roessler utilizes a unique approach to helping each one of her clients reach well beyond their personal goals and aspirations. She has developed a multi-trainer system with various levels and phases. By working with a group of hand-picked highly trained professionals in their respective fields, Alison is able to provide each client with a fitness program that meets exactly their needs. In addition to highly qualified trainers, various training locations are utilized to provide you with the tools necessary to maximize your results.

In addition to private one-on-one training and semi-private training sessions, Urban Wild Fitness offers outdoor boot camp classes designed to challenge both males and females of all ages and fitness levels. If you love group fitness classes but need a change, or you love a workout that will leave you exhausted yet wanting more, boot camp may be right for you.

When you think about exercise and food, what do you think? Do you think about how many calories are in something you ate, and how many grueling minutes you must spend on the treadmill to burn off that particular food. Do you think of them as having an inverse relationship, where the number of calories you consume must decrease while the volume of exercise increases? However you currently relate food and exercise, I would like you to start looking at them from a different vantage point. Think of your food as an energy source for your workouts. Without the proper fuel, your car can not run and neither can you body.

Carbohydrates

What is the number one source of energy for the brain and muscles, especially during exercise? Carbohydrates are the body’s preferred source of energy during physical activity.  The human body breaks down the carbohydrates found in the food we consumed into a simple sugar called glucose. The body then transfers the glucose to the muscles and liver to be used as energy. The body has the ability to store glucose if it is not needed immediately. The glucose cannot be stored anywhere; it can only be stored in the liver and muscles. When it is stored the chemical makeup changes slightly and It becomes glycogen.
